Continuing, but a brief rest for now

 

this, i think, is enough for now.

the leaves need to have brown attachment stems to the branch
the rising Sun needs more, as does the silk ray of light
most of all, the chrysalis, or cacoon needs work to resemble more closely the photograph i sent earlier.
it needs shaping and it needs the little decorations of ever so tiny pieces of thorn that the Russian Olive
branch provided. (dianna..the little pretzel looking things)

a stitched face

 

final Beast days and only a lizard to show for it and the lizard only needs an eye,
so with that in mind, wanting to stitch a face but also not wanting to start a new cloth.

i remembered a workshop i took maybe over 20 years ago where we
were given fabric fragments chosen by another person in the group
at random and had to make a figure (doll) with only that. minimal.

so i picked up some scraps that were actually on the floor and
allowed self 2 colors of thread and this is it so far.
the beast here is "how it is to wake with a new white curtain"

when i posted on the Beast blog, i noticed that the upper triangle had an antennae with a mark on the cloth....

i had not seen any connection with the components until this, so...a butterfly and maybe that's how it feels
to them too? so we share this unfocused face/beingness

?

 

have a thing about just adding something that "looks good" but is not "about" the cloth....
so...can't let it go for the night.
holding it, it FEELS very good...the butterfly now and the light odd piece. it feels very balanced.
but
and so...i think...what is missing from the story...the sun light...?

a piece of glennis' silk is pinned.
now, can go to sleep. i need to be up at 3:30.

the left is just a strip of muslin that lay on the bottom of a cast iron pot with a sediment of rust and
what ever Wind threw in there until the small amount of water evaporated.
the right, from a jar of beet leaves that fermented over time, slimy at the end. it also evaporated
some and when the cloth was exposed to dry, it got the marks and then i would squash it back in and
other parts would have that experience.
i have no idea whether or not any of this will be color fast.
i really need to learn. but in the meantime........

this is it.

 

the one final member of this human family of mine, the grandson who until just very very recently was
"lost in space". he has found himself and found pride and purpose.

what if

 

maybe i have a habit of looking for ... uhhhhh...conclusions, resolution, even, a [single] truth, and
this is something that's gone on since childhood, or maybe even birth, or maybe even before...
and maybe it's that this
"peculiar instrument"
is allowing me to see something different....
What if i can just look at stuff
without any need whatsoever to explain it or make it stand to reason.....
and show it to my selves
and to who ever else has an interest in looking at stuff....?
