how did this happen? i have never seen this before...a caterpillar, i think a hornworm, tomato worm, mummified, just lying quietly, all dried out but complete, under the wild datura
the grasshoppers are tired, but continuing to diligently mate.
when nance said something about continuing a line, couching, i'm pretty sure she wasn't thinking this, but...here we are
i really like the Wad. really. so stitched it down. and it makes it all better, but it's not quite IT yet. not sure what will be next, but this is good.
and here, just as an aside, i feel like i have moved these two things Enough times and if there is anyone out there who would like them????? the "granny square" piece if 4ftx4ft and perfect.
the other is about 5ftx5 and is missing the final square. this one is really HEAVY.
if anyone wants them, i will be HAPPY to send. more Thrift Shop rescues.
up before light, i am looking. i did some things last eve and even during the night. these are my thoughts:

over in Magic Diaries, Jude reminded us of printing out the image in only black and white, pointing out that color can be "emotional". and i did this and yes. i became acutely aware of how much this is a work with color itself. and also, looking at it in black and white only, i understood something i had not before...that the vertical panel on the left is about the Mystery, the underlying guide to everything and the vertical panel on the right, how i experience the manifestation of that Mystery in the physical world. the Center?, well...i don't know how to give words to that yet. (also, in looking at the black/white print out, i had a wonderful glimpse of what it might be like to someday make a cloth of only that, and grey's.) this is what i was looking at at 5am:

and mostly, i was looking at Glennis' blue square/circle. the blue. and then there was nance's good thoughts a little while later that echoed.
it IS the same blue as in the 4th moon/sun above....exactly. But it is VERY blue. a question came: is this discomfort with the very blue blue somehow an important part of the experience??? or not. how can i blend, or correct the color with thread? stitches? and, a BIG question, can those butterflies, tho they are a significant distance away, adjust the blueness of the blue?
and then...about uhhhh, unifying the whole.... this is still very much open to anything. but what i was wondering is, if it would be possible that the butterflies, birds and yet to appear lizards could be that unifying component...and stitching...???? leaving the majority of Space as a critical?

and i am going to go off for awhile. Going to the once only every year open house at Sevilleta. this shirt is i think 9 years old. i am hoping they still have some of this design even though the Mexican Grey Wolf re-introduction program was put on hold

there seems to be a quickening of Signs. they always play a part in things for me, and i always take note (i think), but recently, some are really standing out. this recent sense of it all began with that post of September 5, Still heavy with love, with the finding of that beautiful side~oat grama grass. Simultaneously, i received correspondence from Eva U and enclosed was this
i am not sure this is the positioning she had in her mind, but for me, immediately i connected it to that Native Grass.... to me it the Spirit of that grass personified. it is so perfect in my mind...how the spirit lives in the soil, ready, and has all of it all the time, the plant itself, the seeds, the bloom. so beautiful, and how this land lies at the feet of those mountains.
and then, the visit from the friend. then yesterday, i accomplished something that i have thought about doing for 6 years but have not. i peeled that entire sack of chili. POUNDS of it. and because i don't have a freezer, it needed to be dried. of course (and this would be a significant part of the sign) it is rainy AND Wind has returned. what to do? so i brought in one of the tomatoe cages and tada!
if Cristina sees this, she will laugh.
and today, first thing, i look upon the amazing and oh so stunning cloths that Deb Lacativa brought forth........... and in so many ways, they are so related to the drying chilis
and so, it's been quite a day. a daydreaming day. moving things around on/off/and just around on the Diaries cloth. i finally found that round woven piece from Cloth to Cloth. i had been having feelings, not knowing where it was, searching. today i just suddenly knew and here it is. there will be a "response sign" to this. i'm waiting for it........................
for the last few days, my life has been filled with people. this is not ordinary anymore. and this is all i have been able to do with the Diaries cloth.
can you see the sitting buddha figure inside the cut out circle of one of Glennis' linen moons????
and look at this ~!~ this cloth from Deb Lacativa just look at the incredible color, coloUr....i can hardly believe it.
so, the people days will continue for a while yet. i hope to get some thread on the Glennis circle before i take the Diaries cloth over to let the visitors look at it upon repeated request late this afternoon. i'll pin it to her kitchen cabinets. and answer questions. and then we will all go to the Farmer's Market if the rain stops.
the other part of all this is that over the weekend, a friend who is visiting her son in Albuquerque came. we decided we hadn't seen each other in somewhere around 25 years. i had not seen her son in longer. we sat at the table for EIGHT hours straight talking. sometimes there was music too. both of them musicians, she sings. and during this, the images in that Kaleidoscope arranged and re arranged and slowly swirled and twirled themselves into familiar patterns and ones i've never seen before. we became friends in our early 20's, worked together during that completely formative time for me at the psych hospital and then had our babies within months of each other twice. first the girls then the boys. so there is a lot of History there. a LOT of memories which we wove together in those hours. two women and the memories of a very little boy who is now 30 something.
Dru commented something the other day that would fit here perfectly. i wish i'd gone to that comment first so i could put it here....but it's ok. this will require a part 2, so it can be there.
and the last here is another piece of cloth from Deb L i cannot stop looking at it, touching it.... it exemplifies perfectly her soul connections with her work with dye and cloth. i'd like to say more about that too. but later.
and i don't know what "did it", of all this, but i woke as usual at around 4am and got up as usual to make coffee and realized i had an incredible headache, and then sweats, and then chills. either i ate something that wasn't good or it might be the wine consumed over these days??? but i went back to bed. i lay there then, drifting in and out of dreams, many of which were discussions and decisions about cloth shapes colors placement all moving within almost slow motion exchanges with people and certain images and scenes would magnify just like it happens here when you double click................... i finally got up at 10 something. i cannot remember ever doing that before.
